Vol. 444 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

90 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

My Department has no record of an application from the person named under the 1993 cattle headage or suckler cow premium scheme.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

91 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a special beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named applied for 22 month special beef premium on 19 animals in January-February 1993 and was paid the full premium of £1,001.87 due on foot of this application on 23 May 1994. He was also paid £896.41 on 16 June 1994, on foot of an application on 17 animals under the ten month scheme in November 1993.

He also applied for the 22 month special beef premium on 19 animals in June 1993. The ages declared for 16 of those animals were inconsistent with the ages for the same animals applied on under the ten month scheme in December 1992. This matter is being investigated with the herdowner at present. Payment will depend on the outcome of this investigation.

Regarding his November 1993 22 month special beef application he is ineligible for payment on the one animal applied on because of the age declared on the application.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Ceist:

92 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when all payments of outstanding livestock grants will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle and equine headage and suckler cow premium schemes are being processed at present and payments will be made shortly. She has been deemed ineligible for grants under the 22 month June 1993 special beef premium scheme as the seven animals on which she applied for premium were females.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

93 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will have his full beef premium entitlement paid to him; if so, when; and if he will have arrangements made in order that the error made on the form is rectified and that this person is paid on his bona fide application.

The application of the person named for grants under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme was rejected at a computer validation check because of age inconsistencies. When the problem is resolved following clarification from the herdowner his application will then be processed further and any payment due will then be made.

Tony Killeen

Ceist:

94 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when beef premium and other grant payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

The person named applied for November 1993 special beef premium on 16 animals for the 22 month scheme. As he failed to have the animals ears punched in accordance with the terms and conditions of the scheme he is not eligible for payment on these animals.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

95 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the balance of ewe premium and beef premium payments.

Under the sheep headage scheme flockowners are paid grants on eligible mountain breeding ewes which are substantially maintained on mountain grazings. The person named did not declare that he had any mountain grazings or any mountain breeding ewes. Payment of sheep headage grants was only made on the hogget ewes entered on his application form. However, I have arranged to have this case investigated with a view to establishing any entitlement to additional grants.

He applied for the June 1993 10 month special beef premium on 11 animals. The 10 month premium had previously been paid on ten of the animals. An advance payment of £31.63 was made on 31 January 1994 in respect of the one remaining animal and the balance of £21.10 was paid on 27 April 1994. Under the 22 month scheme he would have qualified for grants on only three animals but as he did not apply payment of grants cannot be considered.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

96 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when 1992 and 1993 suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tyrone.

The person named was paid his 1992 suckler cow premium on 10 October 1993. His application under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made shortly.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

97 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow grant and beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The application of the person named for the 1993 suckler cow premium is being processed at present and any payment due will be made shortly. No applications were received from him for the January, June or November 1993 or January 1994 special beef premium schemes.
