Vol. 445 No. 8

Written Answers. - Special Education Facilities.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

137 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to provide special education for children in the Neilstown/Clondalkin area of Dublin 22 who are dyslexic in view of the numbers involved and the lack of vacancies in the West County Dublin area. [1236/94]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a new special school dedicated to the needs of children with specific learning disability has recently been established at Balrothery, Tallaght. This new school, which is located at Scoil Aengusa, Balrothery, will cater for 36 pupils from the west county Dublin area and represents an important advance in provision for children with specific learning disability.
