Written Answers. - Leaving Certificate Applied Programme.
As was indicated in my Department's Circular M47/93 the leaving certificate applied programme, LCAP, will be introduced as and from September 1995 as part of the restructuring of the senior cycle. The programme will commence on schedule in September 1995 on a phased basis. The schools to be included in the programme will be selected following an application process.
The programmes structure and details of the LCAP are being finalised by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. I expect to receive its recommendations shortly. Information seminars will be completed by the end of 1994. A comprehensive inservice programme for the selected schools will be held early in 1995.
