172 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for the Environment if Dublin Corporation has sought approval from the Department of the Environment for a supplementary report to examine the option of one sewage treatment works for all of Dublin's sewage at Ringsend, Dublin, which would involve tertiary treatment; the plans, if any, he has to approve and finance tertiary treatment for the Dublin area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Dublin Corporation have been granted approval to prepare a supplementary consultants' report on the option of expanding the Ringsend sewage treatment works. The particular type of effluent treatment required will be addressed in the supplementary report having regard to the proposal to consolidate all sewage treatment in Ringsend and to the water quality objectives set out in the Dublin Bay water quality management plan.
