231 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Health the number of nurse training hospitals in the country; and the number in the Eastern Health Board area. [1605/94]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 230 and 231 together.

There are 39 training schools with An Bord Altranais approval to provide nurse training programmes leading to registration in the four basic divisions of the Register. Of these, 19 (nineteen) are the Eastern Health Board area.
