Ceist:235 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Education if she will report on her meeting with representatives of the Warrington Project; and the plans, if any, she has to support this initiative. [1373/94]
Written Answers. - Warrington Project.
I met representatives of the Warrington Project on 27 September 1994 when they were in Dublin on a three day visit. During the meeting with the group, I endorsed the aims of the project which are to promote mutual understanding between the people of Ireland and Britain.
I apprised the Warrington group of the European Studies Project which is operated by my Department, the overall aim of which is to encourage mutual understanding between students of different nationalities and backgrounds.
I have asked my Department to examine the feasibility of including some of the schools in the Warrington area in the European Schools Project. My Department will be in contact with the organisers of the Warrington project in order to establish how best this could be achieved.
