163 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to amend the Building Societies Act, 1989, to allow mutual societies to enter partnership agreements with EU-based financial institutions to ensure a strong, stable and competitive mortgage market for the future. I have no such proposals as I am not aware of any need to amend the Building Societies Act, 1989, to allow building societies enter into partnership agreements with other financial institutions.
