165 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the success of the tenant purchase housing scheme; the numbers availing of this scheme in each local authority area; if he intends to make alterations to the scheme to make it more tenant-friendly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The most recent information available from local authorities is set out in my Department's June Quarter 1994 Housing Statistics Bulletin, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. While previous tenant purchase schemes had a set closing date, the 1993 scheme is an ongoing one and its terms and operation will be kept under regular review.
