38 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Finance if the services of a person (details supplied) are still being availed of, whether personally or through a company, by any Government Department; if so, the nature of the services; the cost of these services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the scheme of administrative budgeting, individual Departments have delegated sanction to engage consultants up to a certain level of cost, without first seeking the sanction of the Department of Finance, provided they adhere to specific requirements. Nevertheless, all Departments have been contacted and I understand that none of them are currently using the services of the individual in question, either personally or through a company.
