Vol. 447 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Lusk (Dublin) Detention Centre.

Nora Owen

Ceist:

117 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Education, in view of the ongoing concern about security in Trinity House, Lusk, County Dublin, if she will meet a deputation from the local community council which has been seeking such a meeting since 1993. [3538/94]

I am aware of the concerns to which the Deputy refers and I have been in touch with representatives of the local community council in relation to their request for a meeting to discuss these matters. I have explained to the community council that, due to a very heavy schedule of commitments, I will be unable to meet with them in the foreseeable future. However, I fully appreciate the concerns which have been expressed and I will arrange for my officials to meet with representatives of the community council should they so wish.
