Ceist:

227 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the names of local authorities which have not yet complied with the requirements to appoint a veterinary inspector under the Abattoirs Act to carry out ante and post mortem examinations to establish the fitness of meat for human consumption and to apply the health mark to meat found fit for human consumption. The local authorities in question are the County Councils for Cavan, Kilkenny, Laois, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo, and Tipperary North Riding.The operation of the Abattoirs Act is under review in my Department.
