79 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice when the refurbishment of C wing in St. Patrick's Institution will be completed and fit for accommodation of prisoners; if her attention has been drawn to the difficulties being experienced in the prisoners' present temporary accommodation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that refurbishment works of C wing at St. Patrick's have caused unavoidable disruption to the full operation of the Institution. Practical completion of the major contract for the refurbishment in question has already been achieved. Minor specific elements including cell door fittings in the refurbishment are in the course of being finished to the standards required by the prison authorities. My information is that this process is very far advanced and that the contractors will shortly be in a position to hand over the wing to the prison authorities.
