Vol. 451 No. 6

Written Answers. - Civil Service Disabled Employees.

Michael Woods

Ceist:

30 Dr. Woods asked the Minister for Finance, in regard to the three per cent quota for the employment of people with disabilities in the Civil Service, the number of these people categorised; the number of people the three per cent represents; and the number who are wheelchair-bound. [4894/95]

As of October 1994, the most recent date for which data is available, the number of people with disabilities employed in the Civil Service was 790, which represented 3 per cent of the total. Information regarding the nature of individual disabilities is not held centrally because of the confidential nature of the information, neither is there a central record of the number of staff who use wheelchairs.
