127 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has to promote the substantial number of 2 Lieutenants in the FCÁ to 1 Lieutenant, as is now due under Defence Force Regulations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8246/95]

Twenty-six (26) FCÁ officers were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with effect from 28 April 1995 having completed the requisite service in the rank of Second-Lieutenant and satisfied the other conditions laid down in Defence Force Regulations.
