Vol. 452 No. 5

Written Answers. - Parking Rules.

Seamus Brennan

Ceist:

90 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Justice the present position on the making of temporary rules to prohibit the parking of heavy goods vehicles in residential areas; the progress, if any, of consultations with Dublin Corporation, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, South Dublin County Council, and the Department of the Environment. [8224/95]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that draft temporary rules to prohibit the parking of heavy goods vehicles in residential areas have been approved by the Attorney General, and with the approval of the Minister for the Environment will come into effect once all of the local authorities concerned have provided alternative parking sites for such vehicles.

The local authorities have been requested to provide the Garda with a list of such sites. To date Dublin Corporation and South Dublin County Council have done so.
