Vol. 452 No. 5

Written Answers. - Proposed Transfer of Garda District Headquarters.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

91 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the views, if any, she has on the fears of residents in the Navan Road/Cabra district of Dublin 7 that proposals to transfer the Garda district headquarters from Cabra Garda station to Blanchardstown will have serious long term effects on Garda resources in this residential area; if she will immediately review any such proposal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8247/95]

I have just received proposals from the Garda authorities recommending the transfer of the district headquarters from Cabra Garda station to Blanchardstown Station. I am considering these proposals at present. I am assured by the commissioner that whatever decision is taken, there will be no diminution in the level of policing being afforded the the Navan Road and Cabra areas.
