Ceist:179 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice the outcome of an application for a certificate of naturalisation submitted by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, in May 1990. [8570/95]

The application for naturalisation of the person in question is one of a substantial number of applications which had fallen into arrears due to a shortage of staffing and other resources in recent years. This situation has now been rectified and I expect to make my decision on this case shortly when the usual procedures have been finalised and I will inform the Deputy of the outcome.
