54 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reasons for the delay in the introduction of the aid to private storage scheme for heavy hoggets; the plans, if any, he has to avoid the need for tendering; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8768/95]
The Commission Regulation for private storage aid for hoggets in Ireland which was adopted on 5 May invites tenders for aid to be submitted by 17 May. The inclusion of hoggets required a special amendment to the regulation. These tenders will be adjudicated on 19 May. This is the normal procedure for the private storage mechanism and there has been no delay.
