137 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the views, if any, he has on the progress being made in relation to the revision of the CIE pension scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9728/95]
Following lengthy and detailed discussions involving CIE and officials from both my own Department and the Department of Finance, agreement has been reached on amendments to the wages grade pension scheme. The wording of the Draft Statutory Instrument is currently being examined and I expect to be in a position to sign it shortly.
A number of outstanding issues remain to be resolved in relation to the salaried staffs scheme. These issues are currently under discussion between the relevant parties and I am hopeful that they will be finalised shortly.
