124 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the names of each person appointed by him to State bodies or subsidiaries and the number of women appointed by him to State bodies under the aegis of his Department. [10112/95]

: I have made appointments to the following boards since taking up office:

Irish National Stud	Mr. David Shubotham	Appointed 25/05/95
	Mr. Jim Beecher
National Milk Agency	Mr. Michael Lanigan	Appointed 27/01/95
	Mr. Aidan Dempsey
	Mr. Hugh Harkin
	Mr. Liam Chute

I have therefore appointed one woman to the State bodies under the aegis of my Department.

The appointments to Teagasc and the National Milk Agency were on the basis of nominations from designated organisations. The nominees to the National Stud and Bord na gCon were reappointments.
