161 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the number and cost of special political advisers and programme managers from outside the permanent public service appointed at his Department. [10246/95]
My programme manager has been appointed from within the public service at no cost to the Exchequer. I have recently appointed a political adviser who was previously employed in the Europen Parliament. His salary is £30,351.
Minister of State, Deputy Stagg, has appointed a political adviser whose salary is £22,922. Minister of State, Deputy Doyle, has not made any appointments which are paid from my Department's administrative budget.
