Vol. 455 No. 3

Written Answers - Company Cars' Confiscation.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

99 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice if the regulations on the confiscation of company cars introduced by the Department of the Environment in an effort to control the joyriding problem have been implemented by the Garda; if so, the number of cars that have been confiscated to date; the Garda stations in Dublin that have the facilities to cope; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12130/95]

Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 came into effect on 19 April 1995. I am informed by the Garda authorities that since that date 298 vehicles have been seized by members of the Force.
