296 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will have a land registry transfer completed in view of the fact that she will lose her chance of a council house if this ongoing matter is not dealt with immediately. [13167/95]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that dealing No. 95SM05410 refers to an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged in relation to Folio No. 30786 Co Mayo on 3 August 1995. I understand that due to their complicated nature, such dealings take some time to process.
It is the policy of the Land Registry to try, as far as possible, to expedite cases in which it can be established that special circumstances of urgency exist and in view of the circumstances outlined by the Deputy I have asked the Registrar of Titles to expedite this case.
