Vol. 455 No. 8
322 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13254/95]
The person concerned is not entitled to invalidity pension because he does not qualify on medical grounds. He was held not to be permanently incapable of work as required under the terms of the pension scheme.
He appealed the decision to the Social Welfare Appeals Office and following an oral hearing the appeals officer disallowed the appeal. The appeals officer's decision is final and conclusive and may only be reviewed in the light of new facts or fresh evidence.
