Vol. 455 No. 8

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Hugh Byrne

Ceist:

377 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the consultations, if any, that took place with staff in his Department prior to the announcement of decentralisation to Johnstown Castle, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13296/95]

The decision in principle to decentralise a part of my Department to Johnstown Castle, County Wexford was made by the Government prior to consultations with the staff generally. Senior staff in my Department were consulted. The consultation process involving the detailed arrangements for the transfers has commenced.
