51 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Finance if national lottery funding is made available to his Department to finance a scheme of grants; and if he will give details of this funding and the procedures involved for application. [13090/95]

While as Minister for Finance, I have overall responsibility for the national lottery, the operation of the various national lottery funded programmes is a matter for each of the spending Ministers concerned.

In my own Department's case, the one activity to be funded by the national lottery is Gaeleagras na Seirbhise Poiblí whose aim is to promote the use of Irish among civil servants. Gaeleagras is funded by means of a grant-in-aid. The amount of money provided in the 1995 revised estimates volume for this particular purpose is £110,000.
