The maximum lengths are prescribed in by-law No. 630 of 1982. I have arranged for a copy of the by-law to be forwarded to the Deputy for information.
The Deputy will be aware that a review of national salmon management policy is under way in accordance with the guidelines outlined on 29 June 1995. The existing regulatory framework for commercial salmon fishing is being assessed in the context of developing the practical long-term strategies for salmon management necessary to achieve the overall policy objectives.
