Ceist:15 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, which has been made towards establishing a clinic of genito-urinary medicine at Mountjoy Prison; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11581/95]
Written Answers. - Prison Medical Facilities.
I have no plans at present to establish such a facility at Mountjoy Prison. The question of medical facilities in the prison is kept under constant review by my Department, in conjunction with medical advice. I am advised that the establishment of such a clinic at the prison would not be justified having regard to current needs and the close proximity of similar satisfactory services. At present, prisoners requiring this service attend various outside hospitals.
