Vol. 456 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water Schemes.

Séamus Hughes

Ceist:

88 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for the Environment the water schemes, if any, that have been approved to date in 1995 for cohesion funding; and whether the Westport water augmentation scheme was prioritised in meetings with EU officials in the past few months. [13907/95]

Three water projects have been approved for funding from the Cohesion Fund in 1995. They are:

—River Barrow Water Quality Improvement Scheme

—Lough Mask Regional Water Supply Scheme (Stage II)

—Monaghan Water Supply

Five other water projects still in progress in 1995 are also being funded by the Cohesion Fund. They are:

—Dublin Region Water Supply Scheme (Stage I)

—Tuam Regional Water Supply (Stage I)

—Limerick City Water Supply (Stage I)

—Lough Mask Regional Water Supply (Stage I)

—Ballyjamesduff Regional Water Supply Scheme (Stage I)

All applications for Cohesion Fund assistance made to my Department represent priority projects and are supported accordingly.
