Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he has considered the submission from Iarnród Éireann regarding grant assistance under the Dublin Transport Initiative for the re-opening of Drumcondra Railway Station; when a decision is expected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand that CIE is currently finalising proposals for the upgrading of stations on the Dublin suburban rail network for possible EU financial assistance under the DTI public transport measure in the Operational Programme for Transport 1994-99. CIE's proposals will be examined in detail as soon as they are received in my Department.
