Vol. 456 No. 8

Written Answers. - REPS Scheme.

James McDaid

Ceist:

76 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if the money paid to farmers under the REPS scheme on 100 acres over a five year period is classed as additional income and therefore subject to tax; and if he will clarify this point in view of the fact that small farmers are being encouraged to join but are in fact afraid to do so. [14808/95]

All payments under the REPS scheme are reckonable as income for taxation purposes.
