83 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Finance the reason an area (details supplied) in County Offaly has been excluded from money recently allocated under the flood relief scheme to the Gort area in County Galway, in view of the severity of the problem and the report of the Office of Public Works personnel who inspected the problem. No part of the country was excluded from any of the financial and other measures brought forward by the Government to alleviate hardship problems resulting from the flooding earlier this year. A request for flood relief works for the area in County Offaly will be considered in the context of the preparation of a national flood relief programme.
