Ceist:

67 Mr. E. Ryan asked the Taoiseach the amount of extra moneys which are being made available to the EU URBAN Initiative from the recent EU allocation of 41 million ECU or £32.8 million, which was announced for Ireland by the European Commission on 4 October 1995 which is additional funding for mainstream European initiatives that apply to Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Taoiseach:

From the recent EU allocation to Ireland of 41.4 million ECU, £32.8 million, 4.82 million ECU, £3.85 million approximately, has been allocated under the URBAN Initiative. The question of the division of total funding now available will be considered by the Government in accordance with the arrangements to be agreed with the European Commission.
