The most recent complete data available in respect of taxation in all EU countries are contained in the OECD publication "Revenues Statistics of OECD Member Countries". The data, which relate to 1993, is in respect of revenue as a percentage of GDP, which is the normally used international comparison. This information is set out in the table below. However, for comparison purposes, the Deputy may wish to be aware that in Ireland tax revenue represented 41.6 per cent of GNP in 1993.
