My attention was drawn to IMPACT's equality campaign for public sector employments when I addressed the IMPACT equality seminar last week. I fully applaud IMPACT on this initiative.
In focusing on its approach to employment equality, IMPACT has produced a valuable resource pack for officials and the general membership of the union. I understand that production of the pack was co-founded by the Employment Equality Agency under the European Union's NOVA project.
I very much welcome the Employment Equality Agency involvement with employer and trade union bodies in promoting the development and implementation of equal opportunity policies. I look forward to seeing progress on this issue in public sector employments as a result of IMPACT's initiative and of the effect of public sector employers and all public service unions, which continue to seek to advance employment equality.
