Written Answers. - Urban Renewal Scheme.
The present urban renewal scheme commenced in August 1994 and will operate for a three year period in 35 centres throughout the country. A comprehensive review of the impact, effectiveness and cost of the urban renewal schemes which have operated to date is currently under way. This will assist in the formulation of future policy. Pending completion of the review, it would be inappropriate to indicate what areas might be included in any future scheme.
