72 Mr. T. Kitt asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the way in which he proposes to proceed with the implementation of the expected Council decision in this jurisdiction with regard to the recent agreement between the European Social Partners on the Framework Agreement on Parental Leave. [18381/95]
The European Social Partners have completed negotiations on a draft Framework Agreement on Parental Leave and are expected to finalise the draft agreement in the immediate future. The indications are that the EU Commission will submit the proposal for consideration and decision of the Council of Social Affairs Ministers as soon as practicable thereafter. Following on that decision, I will give consideration to arrangements for implementing the terms of the proposal nationally.
