The benefits of the change in the Ireland/US Air Services Agreement in relation to the Shannon policy may be measured in a number of ways. In particular, the change in policy has been a contributory factor in the significant increase in the number of passengers travelling between Ireland and the US. In this regard Aer Rianta has advised me that the level of transatlantic terminal traffic at Shannon and Dublin airports since the change in the agreement in October, 1993 is as follows:
