102 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application for funding for a further 50 house scheme by Respond at Marley's Lane, Drogheda, County Louth; if sanction will be given for this scheme; if so, when; if his attention has been drawn to the substantial housing waiting list in Drogheda; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application for funding under the rental subsidy scheme has been received in this case and is under consideration. A decision in the matter will be notified to Drogheda Corporation as soon as possible.
Drogheda Corporation's assessment of housing needs at 31 March 1993 showed 323 households in need of housing. Local authorities have now been directed to carry out their next assessment of housing needs at 29 March 1996.
