55 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the names of the outside public relations firms engaged by him to date in 1995; the cost of the advice to date in 1995; and the estimated cost for the full year. [18960/95]

56 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the names of individuals, groups or companies which have undertaken or have been approved to undertake full-time, part-time or casual consultancies, reviews, examinations or analysis, apart from public relations services, on his behalf or on behalf of Minister(s) of State at his Department; the total cost to date in 1995 for each contract; when the work is likely to be completed; and the estimated cost for the full job. I propose to take Questions Nos. 55 and 56 together.

The only information not given on the matters raised in a series of past questions, i.e. question 5 of 7 February 1995, 1 of 21 February 1995, 13 of 8 March 1995, 40 of 27 June 1995, 1 and 2 of 18 October 1995, 57 of 24 October 1995, 34 of 25 October 1995 and 87 of 8 November 1995 is as follows:

Consultancies.

Department of the Taoiseach.

Department of Political Science, TCD: Report on the possible options to enhance the democratic accountability of the EU in the context of the Intergovernmental Conference. The total cost was £8,000. The work has been completed.

Mr. Noel Dorr: Consultancy in relation to the UN Carlsson Group. Total fees amount to £3,840. The work has been completed.

Mr. Jim Kirby: Further fees of approximately £1,000 have been paid to Mr. Kirby as a researcher in my Department. The work is ongoing.

Price Waterhouse: Consultancy work on the implementation of the EAG Report on the Defence Forces. Total fees of approximately £3,000 are due for payment. The work is nearing completion.

Ingrid McElroy and Emer Dolphin: Consultancy work relating to a Seminar on Estate Management. Total fees of £880 are due for payment and the work has been completed.

Combat Poverty Agency: Work carried out by the Agency for the Final Evaluation of the pilot Area Based Response to tackle Long Term Unemployment. Total costs amount to £84,500 and the final instalment of £20,500 is due for payment in 1995.

Michael Bannon, Services Industry Research Centre: Consultancy in relation to the URBAN Initiative. The total cost is £8,000 and the work will be completed shortly.

Constitution Review Group.

Celia Byrne: Typesetting work in relation to the production of the Report of the Group. The cost to date in 1995 is £300.

Tom Turley: Copy editing work in relation to the production of the Report of the Group. The cost to date in 1995 is £1,700.
All contracts will terminate on completion of the work of the Group.
Forum for Peace and Reconciliation.
Professor Bradley, ESRI: Consultancy work — exploring long-term economic and social consequences of peace and reconciliation in the island of Ireland. The total cost of this project is £10,000 and the work has been completed.
Terence Brown, TCD, Dermot Keogh, UCC, Prof. Brice Dickson, Dr. Arthur Aughey: Carried out a study for the Forum at a cost of £4,000. The work has been completed.
Jerry Sexton, ESRI: Consultancy fees in relation to a Demographic Study on evolution of Protestant/Jewish populations in the South. The work has been completed and the total cost is £15,500.
Dr. Eide: Consultancy in relation to "Exploring long-term economic and social consequences of peace and reconciliation in the island of Ireland". The total cost is £11,000 and the work has been completed.
The remaining consultancies have been completed at a cost of £67,068.
National Economic and Social Council.
Dr. Ciaran Driver, Professor Phil Cooke and the Graduate School of Business Studies, UCD, were appointed as consultants to NESC. Total payments to date amount to £54,000 and the estimated cost of the work in total is £174,000. The work is expected to be completed by mid 1996.
Western Development Partnership Board.
All consultancies have been completed at a total cost of £51,000.
Public Relations.
Keating and Associates: Appointed in November 1995 as public relations and information consultants in connection with the Operational Programme for Local Urban and Rural Development. The total cost will be £24,000 per annum initially for a 1 year contract, renewable on review up to 1999. The cost is being cofinanced by the EU at a 75 per cent aid rate.
