44 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the recommendations, if any, she has received that sex offenders in Arbour Hill Prison be given temporary release as an incentive to take part in treatment programmes; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16518/95]

I wish to emphasise that there is no question of undertakings to grant temporary release being used as an inducement for sex offenders to apply to take part in treatment programmes. This would clearly conflict with the voluntary basis of the programme.
