Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the legislative measures put in place during 1995 further to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 144 on 30 May 1995, regarding the annual report of the Director of Consumer Affairs, 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The following is the up to date position on the matters referred to in my reply to Question No. 144 on 30 May 1995, columns 1463-1464. The Consumer Credit Act, 1995, shall enter into force during the coming months. Regulations to give effect to the EU directive of 1995 on timeshare are currently being drafted by the Attorney General's Office. Legislative measures relating to life and non-life insurance products are at an advanced stage of preparation and shall be enacted later this year.
