32 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the plans, if any, he has to return the industrial policy functions, currently exercised by Forfás, to direct control within his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1575/96]

I have no plans at present to return the industrial policy functions currently exercised by Forfás to direct control within my Department.

The reasons for this are as outlined in my reply to a question put by Deputy Michael McDowell, on 21 November 1995.
