Ceist:41 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether he has satisfied himself regarding the checking procedures applied by the Aviation Authority. [2029/96]
Written Answers - Aviation Authority Procedures.
I am presuming that the Deputy is referring to the statutory role of the Irish Aviation Authority which includes regulating the airworthiness, operation and maintenance of aircraft and the competence of persons engaged in or associated with the maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft. In regulating such matters, the authority operates to internationally agreed safety standards.
I am fully satisfied with the procedures applied by the authority in discharging this role.
