113 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if in the decision making process in regard to the GSM licence applications the various applicants were asked if they had made contributions to political parties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2128/96]
The selection criteria used in evaluating the applications in the GSM competition were set out in Paragraph 19 of the tender document, which was issued to all interested parties in March 1995. Only these criteria were taken into consideration during the evaluation of the six applications received. None of the applicants was asked if he had made contribution to political parties. I wish to emphasise once again my satisfaction that the evaluation process was conducted throughout in an independent, fair and objective manner.
