8 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence the lease arrangements on the Government jet; the moneys, if any, that have been spent on the jet over the past 12 months; the works that have been identified to be carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2074/96]
The Gulfstream IV jet aircraft, was acquired in 1991 on the basis of a ten year lease arrangement, with option to purchase. This arrangement followed the normal practice in the airline industry.
About £160,000 was spent on maintaining the aircraft in 1995 and it will be due to undergo normal scheduled maintenance and overhauls throughout 1996.
