74 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence if he will give an inventory of all properties in the ownership or posession of his Department; the use to which such properties are put; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2200/96]

In addition the Department also administers the following properties: (i) 34 State-owned Married Quarters located outside of barracks; (ii) 22 premises rented on a full-time basis for use of the FCA; (iii) ten hut sites rented for use by the FCA; (iv) 11 rifle ranges rented for use by the Defence Forces and (v) one building (former National School) rented for use as a Range Warden's Headquarters, Glen of Imaal.
All properties administered by the Department are used for military purposes. The property requirements of the Defence Forces are kept under continual review taking account of the spread of existing barracks and posts and the necessity to maintain security and operational efficiency.
