64 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to extend the scheme for scrapping old motor cars which is due to expire at 31 September 1996 in view of the success of the scheme and whether he will reconsider expanding the scheme as outlined in the adjournment debate by Deputy Ned O'Keeffe in 1995. The £1,000 VRT scrapping scheme is due to end on 31 December 1996. I have no plans to extend it beyond that date, or to include second-hand cars in the manner previously proposed by the Deputy.
