Vol. 461 No. 4

Written Answers. - Engagement of Outside Public Relations Firms.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

105 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform if his reply to parliamentary question on 13 December 1995, regarding outside public relations firms engaged by him which indicated Quinn, McDonnell & Pattison Limited would receive £40,000 approximately out of the estimated overall budget represents the current position; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3175/96]

The amount paid to Quinn McDonnell Pattison for the services they provided in relation to the Government's programme of information on the divorce referendum was £52,456. The figure of £40,000 given by me in reply to a question of 13 December 1995 did not include VAT and it was approximate because it had to be finalised in consultation with QMP.
