Vol. 463 No. 1

Written Answers. - Incentives to Drug Companies.

Ivor Callely

Ceist:

103 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he encourages multinational drug companies to manufacture, research and distribute their products from an Irish based operation; the support and incentives, if any, to encourage these companies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5813/96]

IDA Ireland offer a package of incentives, including industry grants and other supports, to multinational drug companies to carry out manufacture and research of products in Ireland. The 10 per cent corporation tax incentive for manufacturing industry is also an important incentive for multinational drug companies to locate here.
